The 1998 Cal State Northridge Matadors football team represented Cal State Northridge during the 1998 NCAA Division I-AA football season.
Cal State Northridge competed in the Big Sky Conference. The 1998 Matadors were led by first-year head coach Ron Ponciano. Ponciano was the third head coach in three years for the Matadors. They played home games at Devonshire Downs / North Campus Stadium in Northridge, California. Cal State Northridge finished the season with a record of seven wins and four losses (7–4, 5–3 Big Sky).
