The 2002 World Matchplay was a darts tournament held in the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool. Sponsored by UK bookmaker Stan James, the tournament ran from 28 July through 3 August 2002, and was won by Phil Taylor Taylor Made History By Scoring The 1st Live 9-Dart Finish.
The prize fund was £72,500.
