The 2005 Sacramento State Hornets football team represented Sacramento State University during the 2005 NCAA Division I-AA football season.

Sacramento State competed in the Big Sky Conference. The Hornets were led by third-year head coach Steve Mooshagian and played home games at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California.
