The name is a reference to Abe Vigoda.

Skeleton, Abe Vigoda's third full-length album, was released on July 8, 2008. In 2009, the EP Reviver followed. They finished recording their fourth full-length album titled Crush on February 24, 2010 and it was released on September 20, 2010 and was ranked 40th on Pitchfork Media's list The Top 50 Albums of 2010.
