The Aliquippa School District is a small, urban, public school district located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. The District serves the City of Aliquippa. Aliquippa School District encompasses approximately 4 square miles (10 km2). According to 2010 federal census data, it serves a resident population of 9,438 people. In 2009, the district residents’ per capita income was $13,718, while the median family income was $34,003. In the Commonwealth, the median family income was $49,501 and the United States median family income was $49,445, in 2010. The educational attainment levels for the Aliquippa School District population (25 years old and over) were 86.5% high school graduates and 16.3% college graduates.

According to District officials, in school year 2007–08 the district provided basic educational services to 1,170 pupils through the employment of 124 teachers, 74 full-time and part-time support personnel, and nine administrators. In 2009-2010, the District provided basic educational services to 1,171 pupils. It employed: 115 teachers, 87 full-time and part-time support personnel, and nine (9) administrators. Aliquippa School District received $12.1 million in state funding in the 2009-2010 school year.

Aliquippa School District operates two schools: Aliquippa Elementary School (K-6) and Aliquippa Junior/Senior High School (7-12). High school students may choose to attend Beaver County Career and Technology Center [1] for training in the construction and mechanical trades. The Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit IU27 provides the District with a wide variety of services like specialized education for disabled students and hearing, speech and visual disability services and professional development for staff and faculty.

Ever since the collapse of the steel mills in Aliquippa, the Aliquippa Public Schools have had declining enrollment. The Aliquippa School Board has made 6 attempts to merge with the nearby Hopewell Area School District hoping it will sustain declining enrollment. Unfortunately, Hopewell Area School District has declined Aliquippa's requests. One attempt was made to merge with Center Area School District now Central Valley School District, unfortunately Center declined Aliquippa. One attempt was made to merge with the new Central Valley School District and it was declined again.
