Ansarul Sharia Pakistan is a Pakistani terrorist group based in Karachi, Pakistan. The organization was founded in February 2017. The organization members are highly educated individuals and claim that their members also belonged to south Punjab, Balochistan and Waziristan as well.
In April 2017, they were involved in the killing of a retired colonel in the Baloch Colony area.
On 23 June 2017, the group killed four policemen while they were observing iftar in the evening at a roadside restaurant in SITE, Karachi. The pamphlets found from the spot of the attack warned of a terrorist-led operation Radd-ul-Artedad against the security forces.
On 2 September 2017, group's four militants attempted the assassination of Pakistani politician Khawaja Izharul Hassan in which he survived. The master mind behind the attack was identified as Abdul Karim Sarosh Siddiqui who was student in University of Karachi.
On 6 September 2017, security forces arrested the chief Sheheryar aka Abdullah Hashmi of the militant group. He was working in computer department of NED University. He received his master's degree in Applied Physics from the University of Karachi.
