Anthony Fry (born 20 June 1955) is an English business executive.
Fry has more than twenty years’ experience in advising companies and governments in both the UK and internationally. He is Chairman of Espírito Santo’s UK Investment Banking operations and a senior adviser to the Board of Espírito Santo Investment Bank. He has worked for a number of leading financial institutions including Rothschild Group, CSFB, Lehman Brothers and Evercore. He has also sat on the Appeals Board of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers and was appointed by HM Treasury to serve on the appointments panel for the valuers for Northern Rock, Bradford & Bingley and Dunfermline Building Society.
He is a member of the BBC Trust, the governing body of the British Broadcasting Corporation. As Global Head of the Media business and European Head of Telecoms at Credit Suisse, he worked with a number of media organisations including the BBC, BSkyB and Vivendi. He has held a number of non-executive positions at companies including Southern Water, the BSI, Mowlem and is currently the Chairman of Dairy Crest and is on the boards of Control Risks and of CALA Group.
He also serves on the boards of numerous charitable foundations and academic institutions including SOAS, The Godolphin and Latymer School and the English National Opera.
He has a first class honours degree in Modern History from Oxford University.
