Arona is a borough in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 407 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 407 people, 166 households, and 109 families residing in the borough. The population density was 762.0 people per square mile (296.5/km²). There were 170 housing units at an average density of 318.3 per square mile (123.8/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 98.53% White, 0.25% Native American, 0.25% from other races, and 0.98% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.25% of the population.
There were 166 households out of which 28.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.3% were non-families. 30.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 3.10.
