B. V. Ramamurthy (14.10.1933 - 23.03.2004) was a renowned cartoonist from Bangalore, whose regular cartoons were published in newspapers like Deccan Herald, Prajavani, Mayura and Sudha from Karnataka. The cartoon column titled Mr. Citizen went very popular among the newspaper readers. Through his column the cartoonist tried to bring out the day to day issues of a common man and also issue of ongoing political developments for over 33 years.
He was the first chairperson of Indian Institute of Cartoonists until he died in 2004.
