Baltasinsky District (Russian: Балтаси́нский райо́н; Tatar: Cyrillic Балтач районы, Latin Baltaç rayonı) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the north of the republic. The area of the district is 1,094.5 square kilometers (422.6 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Baltasi. Population: 33,879 (2010 Census); 32,967 (2002 Census);29,004 (1989 Census). The population of Baltasi accounts for 22.8% of the district's total population.
