Big Creek Township is a civil township of Oscoda County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,827 at the 2010 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 143.1 square miles (371 km2), of which 141.5 square miles (366 km2) is land and 1.7 square miles (4.4 km2) (1.17%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,380 people, 1,422 households, and 968 families residing in the township. The population density was 23.9 per square mile (9.2/km²). There were 3,089 housing units at an average density of 21.8 per square mile (8.4/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.49% White, 0.06% African American, 0.50% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.15% from other races, and 1.66% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.07% of the population.
There were 1,422 households out of which 26.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.4% were married couples living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.9% were non-families. 26.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.84.
