|
The black-legged parrot (Pionites leucogaster xanthomeria) is one of the four subspecies of White-bellied caique in the genus Pionites of the family Psittacidae. Originally the species was considered to be a subspecies of Pionites leucogaster, but recent morphological work suggests the species should be split into three. The species is also known as the yellow-thighed parrot.
