Botsa Satyanarayana (9 July 1958) also Botcha Satyanarayana(Sathi Babu) is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh, India. He belonged to the Indian National Congress until 2015 and he joined the YSR Congress On 7 June 2015.
He was born in Vizianagaram. His parents are Botsa Guru Naidu and Eswaramma. He has studied at Maharajah's College and completed Bachelor of Arts. He is married to Dr. Bocha Jhansi Lakshmi, who was in 2006 elected a Congress party Lok Sabha representative from Bobbili constituency. He is a Christian having converted to Christianity upon joining YSR Congress.
Botcha Satyanarayana has served as President, APCC . He was a Minister for Transport, Marketing, Panchyat Raj and Housing in the government of Andhra Pradesh, and has served previously as Panchayati raj minister, and as Minister for Industries in the Andhra Pradesh government. He presented himself as a contender to succeed Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy as chief minister of Andhra Pradesh after the latter's death in a 2009 helicopter accident.
After the 2012 Delhi gang rape, Satyanarayana was heavily criticized for statements suggesting that women should not take public transport at night. "We also condemn the incident. But we should consider the circumstances. They should also think that they should not go in a private bus at night. We say we got freedom at midnight but doesn't mean we can roam around freely at midnight."
In 2015, Satyanarayana announced he would leave the INC and he would join the YSR Congress And Joined In YSR Congress On 7 June With Entire Family And along with his supporter Professor Amukurajah Das.
