Brookville is a city in Saline County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 262.
Brookville was laid out in 1870 when the Kansas Pacific Railway was extended to that point. The first post office in Brookville was established in February 1870.
Brookville is located at 38°46′24″N 97°52′5″W / 38.77333°N 97.86806°W (38.773464, -97.868015). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.57 square miles (1.48 km2), all of it land.
The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Brookville has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps.
It is part of the Salina Micropolitan Statistical Area.
As of the census of 2010, there were 262 people, 101 households, and 72 families residing in the city. The population density was 459.6 inhabitants per square mile (177.5/km2). There were 113 housing units at an average density of 198.2 per square mile (76.5/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 94.3% White, 0.4% Native American, 0.4% Pacific Islander, 1.5% from other races, and 3.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.0% of the population.
