C. Ravichandran is an Indian author, science promoter, public speaker, and atheist blogger. He has written 14 books in Malayalam on topics stretching from science to politics.
Ravichandran was born in 1970 in the Village of Pavithreswaram, in Kollam, Kerala, India. He went to St. Jude High School, Mukhathala, Kollam. He graduated from Sree Narayana College, Kollam under the University of Kerala. He secured post graduate degrees in English literature, economics, politics, history, sociology, philosophy, commerce, Malayalam literature and public administration from the University of Kerala. He entered Kerala government service in 1996 at Kerala Public Service Commission. In 2006, he joined the Department of Collegiate Education as an assistant professor of English. He has worked at the Government College in Munnar; Government women's college, Thiruvanathapuram; the Government College in Nedumangad, Thiruvanathapuram; and the University College at Thiruvanathapuram.
Since 2010, he has authored books, presentations and debates. He is a close associate of esSENSE, which is a collaboration of science promoters, freethinkers, and activists in the state of Kerala. In 2017 April, he visited Australia and presented public lectures and presentations organized by esSENSE, Melbourne and various Malayali organisations in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, and Brisbane and was interviewed by SBS Radio.
He won the Prof. Joseph Mundassery Foundation Award for Best young-writer of 2016 for his efforts in promoting scientific temper through books.
