Cadaado, also known as Adado, is a city in the central Galguduud region of Somalia. Adado is the capital of Galmudug state of Somalia since the Constitutional capital of Galmudug, Dhusamareb is controlled by Ahlu Sunna wal jamah. a paramilitary modern sufi group who was politically against the former government of Galmudug and former federal government. There is a high chance of the group merging with Galmudug state as there are new regional government and a new federal government.
Adado had a population of 9,326 as of 2005 with the broader Adado district having a population of 45,630. the town is largely inhabited by Habar Gidir subclan of Hawiye respectively.
Due to the general instability of the town and the frequent attacks by the Al-Queda affiliated terror group Al-shabab, AMISOM peacekeeping troops have been deployed to Adaado and are in charge of the security of the town at the request of the Somali Federal Government.AMISOM have also taken over control of the Adaado Airport.
