Carle Place Middle/High School is a six-year comprehensive public high school located in the hamlet of Carle Place in Nassau County, New York.
As of the 2014-15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 636 students and 66.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.6:1. There were 105 students (16.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 23 (3.6% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.
Carle Place High School is one of America's Best Public High Schools. The school is very enthusiastic about sports and school spirit. This enthusiasm is shown through three pep rallies during the school year. The school is #218 out of 500 based on the class of 2010. The CBS show Hostages is filming "Whetan High School" on the outside, while the inside (main entrance and Middle School section) is at "Holly Oak Elementary School".
Carle Place High School had a sister school in Filabusi, Matabeleland South Province, Zimbabwe, named Singwango Secondary School, and still donates sports equipment (e.g., old uniforms).
