Locomotives designed by George William Reid, Natal Government Railways (NGR) Locomotive Superintendent (1896-1902).
On 1 July 1896, Reid succeeded William Milne as Locomotive Superintendent. Later in that year, he rebuilt one of the NGR's 4-6-0 tank locomotives of 1882 to a 4-6-4 wheel arrangement. This locomotive was the first known in the world to have a Baltic type wheel arrangement.
Reid also designed the NGR Class C 4-10-2 Reid Tenwheeler tank engine, the first locomotive in the world to use this wheel arrangement.
