Claflin is a city in Barton County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 645.

Claflin was first settled in 1887 after the Missouri Pacific Railroad was extended to that point. The city was incorporated in 1901. Claflin is the maiden name of the wife of an early settler.

Claflin is located at 38°31′30″N 98°32′14″W / 38.524996°N 98.537128°W / 38.524996; -98.537128 (38.524996, -98.537128). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.33 square miles (0.85 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2010, there were 645 people, 267 households, and 175 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,954.5 inhabitants per square mile (754.6/km2). There were 299 housing units at an average density of 906.1 per square mile (349.8/km2).
