Claflin is a city in Barton County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 645.
Claflin was first settled in 1887 after the Missouri Pacific Railroad was extended to that point. The city was incorporated in 1901. Claflin is the maiden name of the wife of an early settler.
Claflin is located at 38°31′30″N 98°32′14″W / 38.524996°N 98.537128°W (38.524996, -98.537128). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.33 square miles (0.85 km2), all of it land.
