The Club Universitario de Rosario (Uni Rosario) is a multi-sports club in Rosario, Argentina. Today the club is mostly famous for their rugby union team.
Club Universitario was founded in 1924 as a sports club for the students of Rosario's four universities. Athletics would become the first sport practiced at the club, later followed by fencing, association football, swimming, rugby union, basketball and field hockey.
Rosario is a hotbed of rugby in Argentina and Club Universitario has always had to contend with powerhouses such as Plaza, Jockey and Duendes.
Universitario - and their main rivals GER - had always been considered relative minnows in Rosario rugby but in recent years Uni have somewhat closed the gap with the big three, winning the provincial title in 2005 and 2009.
