Contact Note is the second studio album by English musician and producer Jon Hopkins, released on August 9, 2004 under Just Music and absolute zero
Contact Note, failed to generate anything beyond a small critical buzz, leading Hopkins to be somewhat disillusioned with his own career and retreat into production. However, despite his perceived backslide, Contact Note actually marked a new beginning for Hopkins, as Brian Eno, after hearing the album, asked to meet him, and the two eventually becoming collaborators. It was through Eno that Hopkins got his highest-profile gig to date as one of the producers of Coldplay's Viva La Vida (and to some extent its follow-up, Mylo Xyloto).
All tracks written by Jon Hopkins.
