Conyngham Township is a township in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,453 at the 2010 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 17.0 square miles (44.0 km2), of which 16.0 square miles (41.4 km2) is land and 0.97 square miles (2.5 km2), or 5.73%, is water. The largest community in the township is the village of Mocanaqua along the Susquehanna River, directly across from the borough of Shickshinny.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,385 people, 600 households, and 385 families residing in the township. The population density was 87.4 people per square mile (33.8/km2). There were 691 housing units at an average density of 43.6/sq mi (16.8/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 98.19% White, 0.72% Black or African American, 0.58% Asian American, 0.22% from other races, and 0.29% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.79% of the population.
There were 600 households, out of which 24.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.7% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.7% were non-families. 30.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 2.86.
