The southern giant pouched rat (Cricetomys ansorgei) is a species of rodent in the family Nesomyidae. It is widely distributed in mainly tropical regions of southern Africa, notably Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
