Curahuasi District is one of the nine districts of the Abancay Province in Peru.
One of the highest peaks of the district is Q'illu Q'asa at approximately 4,600 m (15,100 ft). Other mountains are listed below:
The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (73.79%) learnt to speak in childhood, 25.86% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).
