David Anthony "Dave" Young (born January 29, 1940) is a Canadian double-bass player.
Young was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He played with Lenny Breau in local gigs before studying music formally at Berklee College of Music and the Royal Conservatory of Music in the 1960s. He played with a number of Canadian symphony orchestras in the 1970s and has worked extensively in jazz with musicians such as Kenny Barron, Gene DiNovi, Wray Downes, Tommy Flanagan, Oliver Jones, and Oscar Peterson.
