Deerfield Township is a civil township of Isabella County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,081 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.9 square miles (93 km2), of which 35.8 square miles (93 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) (0.31%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,081 people, 1,100 households, and 903 families residing in the township. The population density was 86.2 per square mile (33.3/km²). There were 1,150 housing units at an average density of 32.2 per square mile (12.4/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.31% White, 0.16% African American, 1.14% Native American, 0.39% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.16% from other races, and 0.81% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.91% of the population.
There were 1,100 households out of which 39.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.4% were married couples living together, 5.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.9% were non-families. 13.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.79 and the average family size was 3.08.
