Delran High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades from Delran Township in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States, operating as the lone secondary school of the Delran Township School District.
As of the 2014-15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 855 students and 71.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.9:1. There were 126 students (14.7% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 39 (4.6% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.
As of the 2011–12 school year, Delran High School was 77% White, 11% Black, 6% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 2% two or more races, 0.1% American Indian/Alaska Native, and 0% Hawaii Native/Pacific Islander.
The school was the 169th-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 339 schools statewide in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2014 cover story on the state's "Top Public High Schools", using a new ranking methodology. The school had been ranked 230th in the state of 328 schools in 2012, after being ranked 179th in 2010 out of 322 schools listed. The magazine ranked the school 155th in 2008 out of 316 schools. The school was ranked 112th in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which surveyed 316 schools across the state.
The Delran High School Bears compete in the Patriot Division of the Burlington County Scholastic League (BCSL) sports association, which operates under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) and consists of public and non-public high schools covering Burlington County, Camden County, Mercer County and Ocean County in Central Jersey. With 682 students in grades 10-12, the school was classified by the NJSIAA for the 2015-16 school year as Central Jersey, Group II for most athletic competition purposes, which included schools with an enrollment of 498 to 750 students in that grade range. The school's mascot is the bear and school colors are brown and gold.
