A dishwasher is a worker who washes dishes.

Most dishwashers work in a restaurant setting. Typical dishwashers load a tray of dirty dishes into a commercial dishwashing machine.

A 2008 study by the Pew Hispanic Center reported that many illegal immigrants to the United States worked as dishwashers. Dishwashing can be an entry-level job for a career in food preparation.
