Doug Smith (born May 17, 1962 in Ottawa, Ontario) is a Canadian retired former professional ice hockey player who played for the Los Angeles Kings, Buffalo Sabres, Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks and Pittsburgh Penguins over the course of his career. He was selected second overall in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft.
Smith suffered a career-ending injury to his neck, rendering him a quadriplegic. He relearned how to walk again and forged himself a new career in business. He has 2 sisters. Carey smith and Tracy smith.
