E.P. Jayarajan is an Indian politician from the state of Kerala, India. He was the Former Minister for Industries and Sports in the Government of Kerala. He is elected to Kerala Legislative Assembly from Mattanur constituency in Kannur district and is a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) political party. He completed his Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
He was the first All India President of D.Y.F.I. (Democratic Youth Federation of India). General Manager of Deshabhimani Newspaper daily. President of Kerala Karshaka Sangham and Central Committee Member of Communist Party of India (Marxist).
On 25 May 2016, he took oath as the new minister for industries and sports under the new Kerala Cabinet led by Pinarayi Vijayan.He was a Member of Legislative Assembly from 1991 to 1996 and 2011 to present.
On 14 October 2016, EP Jayarajan resigned over nepotism following allegations that he appointed his own family members as heads of public sector undertakings in the state.
On 4 June 2016, Jayarajan became a trending topic in social media after he gave an interview to a TV news channel, in which he paid tribute to the deceased American boxer Muhammad Ali, and erroneously described him as "the pride of Kerala, who had won gold medals for the state in Olympics".
