Em and The Big Hoom

Em and the Big Hoom is an English novel written by Jerry Pinto, an Indian author. The book received The Hindu literary Prize for (2012) and Sahitya Akademi Award (2016) in the category for English books.

The story centers on Imdelda Mendez who is afflicted with bipolar disorder. Her turmoils are narrated by her teenage son, who is deeply moved by the unusual bond between his parents.
