Essen-Kupferdreh station is located in the district of Kupferdreh of the city of Essen in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on the Wuppertal-Vohwinkel–Essen-Überruhr line and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 6 station. It was built in 1969/79, replacing the nearby Old Kupferdreh station.
The station is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 9 (Haltern–Wuppertal), operating every 20 minutes during the day.
