Functional Ecology is a bimonthly peer-reviewed scientific journal on organismal ecology publishing papers on physiological, behavioural, and evolutionary ecology, emphasising an integrative approach. The scope of the journal has changed over time. A recent editorial stated that the journal is increasing its coverage of community, evolutionary, and ecosystem ecology.
