Gawan is a village in Gawan CD Block in Khori Mahuwa subdivision of Giridih district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.
Gawan police station has jurisdiction over Gawan CD Block.According to old British records, Gawan PS was there after Giridh subdivision was formed in 1870. Prior to that it had a zaminday thana.
The headquarters of Gawan CD Block are located at Tisri.
