George D. Chryssides (born 1945), has taught at several British universities, becoming head of religious studies at the University of Wolverhampton in 2001. He is currently honorary research fellow in contemporary religion at York St John University and the University of Birmingham. He is the author of several books and articles. Chryssides has a particular interest in new religious movements, on which he has published extensively.
Chryssides holds an MA in philosophy and a BD in systematic theology from the University of Glasgow and a DPhil in philosophy of religion from the University of Oxford.
