Grant Richards was a small British publishing house that was founded in 1897 by writer Franklin Thomas Grant Richards. Some notable publications were George Bernard Shaw's Plays Pleasant and Unpleasant and A. E. Housman's A Shropshire Lad.
Richards declared bankruptcy in 1905. He continued to own the firm until 1926, when he declared bankruptcy a second time; the firm was renamed to Richards Press, and then bought by Martin Secker. The firm would later be bought by John Baker, and finally A & C Black.
