Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU) (simplified Chinese: 杭州电子科技大学; traditional Chinese: 杭州電子科技大學; pinyin: Hángzhōu diànzǐ kējì dàxué) is a university in Hangzhou, China. It was founded in 1956 as the second public university in Zhejiang Province. It was formerly named Hangzhou Institute of Electrical Engineering and was renamed in 2004.
March 1956, to create Hangzhou Aviation Industry Finance School, attached to the Second Machinery Industry Department.
June 1958, the school changed its name to Hangzhou Aviation Industry School, under the Ministry of Machinery Industry.
December 1958, the school decentralized, and Zhejiang Machinery College (now Zhejiang Vocational and Technical College of Electrical) Motor Division merger Zhejiang Electrical College, under the Zhejiang Provincial Machinery Agency.
1961 April, changed its name to Zhejiang Machinery Industry School, under the Zhejiang Provincial Machinery Department.
November 1962, the Central Recycling, under the Third Machinery Industry Department.
March 1963, under the management of the Fourth Machinery Industry.
January 1965, changed its name to Hangzhou Radio Industry Management School, under the Fourth Machinery Industry Department.
February 1970, the school changed its factory, changed its name to Xuejun Machine Factory, under the Fourth Machinery Industry Department.
May 1973, the Central Government approved the resumption of schools, the establishment of Hangzhou Radio Industry School, under the Fourth Machinery Industry Department.
May 8, 1980, the State Council formally approved the establishment of Hangzhou Institute of Electronics Industry, management system as "the implementation of the Fourth Machinery Industry Department, Zhejiang Province, dual leadership, departmental leadership."
In 1981, began to recruit master's students.
In 1990, became a master's degree awarded unit.
In 1996, with the former Hangzhou University jointly declared "circuit and system" doctoral approved.
In 1997, the Ministry of Electronics Industry and Zhejiang Province signed an agreement to build Hangzhou University of Electronic Science and Technology.
May 2000, the school management system to implement major changes, the implementation of "provincial and ministerial co-built, province-based" management system; and Zhejiang Province as a key construction teaching research university.
