Holliday is a city in Archer County, Texas, United States. It is part of the Wichita Falls, Texas Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,758 at the 2010 census. The town is named for nearby Holliday Creek, named in turn for John Holliday, a member of a Republic of Texas military expedition.
Holliday is located in northern Archer County at 33°48′49″N 98°41′37″W / 33.81361°N 98.69361°W (33.813609, -98.693508), 14 miles (23 km) southwest of downtown Wichita Falls in northern Texas. U.S. Routes 82 and 277 bypass the city on the northwest, leading northeast to Wichita Falls and southwest to Seymour.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.4 square miles (6.2 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,650 people, 622 households, and 462 families residing in the city. The population density was 836.4 people per square mile (323.1/km²). There were 676 housing units at an average density of 346.5/sq mi (133.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.02% White, 1.10% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 1.35% from other races, and 1.29% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.49% of the population.
