Houghton and Sunderland South /ˈhoʊtən.ənd.ˈsʊn.dərˌlənd.saʊθ/ is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2010 by Bridget Phillipson of the Labour Party. In the 2010 and 2015 general elections, it was the first constituency to declare its result. In the 2017 general election, it was beaten by Newcastle upon Tyne Central.
