Incarvillea sinensis is a species of the genus Incarvillea. The plant has been used in traditional Chinese medicine as an analgesic and as a treatment for rheumatism. Incarvillateine isolated from Incarvillea sinensis has demonstrated significant analgesic activity when compared to the opiate alkaloid morphine.
The plant is native to Asia, grows to almost 2 feet at maturity with rose like pink flowers, named after a French missionary to China, Pierre d'Incarville.
