Intestinal spirochetosis, also intestinal spirochetes, colonic spirochetosis and colonic spirochetes, is an infection of the colonic-type mucosa with spirochete microorganisms.

No clear association exists with complaints. However, potential associations exist with include watery diarrhea and abdominal pain, which may be seen with blood; these findings are not specific, i.e. may be seen due to number of other causes.

Human intestinal spirochetosis is caused by Brachyspira pilosicoli and Brachyspira aalborgi. Porcine and avian intestinal spirochetosis are caused by Brachyspira pilosicoli.

It is diagnosed by examination of tissue, i.e. biopsy.
