Jamia Nadwiyya Edavanna is an Islamic higher education institution in the state of Kerala, India was established by Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen(K.N.M) in 1964. it is a member of Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World. The campus is located at Edavanna, in Malappuram district, Kerala and it is spread across an area of about eighty acres. Jamia Nadwiyya Edavanna offers qualitative education from primary level to post graduation level through seven institutes. It is affiliated to University of Calicut.
Jamia Nadwiyya Edavanna provides education in various Islamic disciplines. It offers five post graduate courses, two under graduate courses and two certificate courses. JNE offers training in four languages; Malayalam, Arabic, English and Urdu. A Thahfeezul Qur'an institute, offers training for memorising the holy Qur'an, also works in the JNE campus.
In addition to Islamic courses JNE provides various secular courses in the campus itself through Arts and Science college, Training college and Teachers training college. These institutes offer diploma courses, eleven undergraduate courses and two post graduate courses.
The overwhelming thought of KNM leaders, the need for Religious preachers as well as in-depth scholars for and from the future generation to lead Muslim community, made Jamia Nadwiyya a reality. Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen held a major role in the religious-socio-cultural upliftment of the Kerala Muslim Community. The campus was established in 1964 at a Masjid of Edavanna, then an undeveloped town in the Malappuram district. Famous Islamic scholar and freedom fighter A. Alavi Moulavi from the same village was the founding principal.
The students and faculties of Jamia Nadwiyya focus on research activities and publications. It has three publications; Annadwa, Majallathussalah and Voice of Jamia, first two in Arabic and later in Malayalam. The students and faculty members also contribute to various Islamic journals and periodicals.
Jamia Nadwiyya is a residential campus having separate hostel facility for both boys and girls. The three boys hostels and two girls hostels run in the campus can accommodate around thousand students. Students from almost all part of Kerala, and neighbouring states like Karnataka, Lakshadeep and Tamilnadu have been studying in the campus. The college is live with various educational, Sports, Cultural, Social and Religious activities.
