He became the International Boxing Federation junior bantamweight champion when he defeated McJoe Arroyo on September 3, 2016 by unanimous decision. Ancajas earned just $3,750 for the fight. He entered the fight on an 11-fight win streak.
Ancajas is the first world champion promoted by MP Promotions, a promotional company owned by Manny Pacquiao.
