Jessie Foster (born May 27, 1984), full name Jessica Edith Louise Foster, is a Canadian woman who disappeared in the Las Vegas Valley in Nevada, United States, in 2006. Her parents are Glendene Grant and Dwight Foster Jessie spent some time living in Calgary, Alberta. In 2005, Jessie and a friend of hers visited Florida together, and then stopped by Las Vegas on the way back in May where Jessie decided to stay. Before disappearing the following year, Jessie became involved in prostitution, was arrested once for solicitation, and was the victim of battery on several occasions.
Prior to her disappearance, Jessie was recruited in Calgary by a friend from California named Yvonne Hubrechtsen to work in Las Vagas. She began dating her boyfriend, Peter Todd who previously was convicted with spousal assault. They rented a house at 1009 Cornerstone Place in Northern Las Vagas, who according to the police is the place where Jessie was living, and last seen.
Jessie kept constant telephone communication with her mother and sisters. Unbeknownst to them, Jessie was forced into prostitution by Peter Todd and arrested a couple of times by Las Vegas Police and hospitalized once for a broken jaw after a brutal beating by her boyfriend. Her last contact with her mother was on March 24, 2006, in a telephone conversation in which she discussed returning home to Canada for a visit. On March 28, 2006, Jessie spoke to her sister, Crystal, making plans for them to meet in Kamloops so they could drive together to Calgary for their stepsister’s wedding reception on April 29. She never made the trip. This was the last time anyone spoke to Jessie or heard from her.
With no telephone calls being made, Jessie’s mother contacted Peter Todd, who told her that Jessie took all of her belongings and drove off. Without much to go on, detectives in Las Vegas fear that Jessie may have become victim of an international human trafficking ring.
Jessie is one of four prostitutes who disappeared in Las Vegas between 2003 and 2006. The bodies of the other three have been found. The Las Vegas Police Department launched an investigation of the person in question, bringing in a forensic scientist to spray luminol onto surfaces at crime scenes to detect invisible blood stains; but found nothing at Peter's property, nor has he been interrogated on her disappearance. Benjamin Perrin of Vancouver, British Columbia, received a George Ryga Award for Social Awareness in Literature nomination for having written Invisible Chains, a book that prominently deals with human trafficking, and includes the disappearance of Jessie Foster. The documentary "Trafficked No More", features her story and led to some tips to her whereabouts.
