John Clancy is a Labour councillor for Quinton ward in Birmingham, England. He became leader of Birmingham City Council on 1 December 2015, replacing Albert Bore.
He was previously councillor for the city's Hodge Hill ward from 2002 to 2006, and was elected to represent Quinton in May 2011. He also served as election agent for the Birmingham Edgbaston MP Gisela Stuart in 2001.
Clancy is from , Greater Manchester, but has lived in Birmingham since around 1990. His career has included stints as a teacher, university lecturer and solicitor. He is married to a teacher and they have one daughter.
