Kanathur (Kannada: ಕಣತೂರು) is a village in Turvekere taluk of Tumkur district, in the Indian state of Karnataka.There is a Venugopalaswamy temple in Kanathur.Just next to the temple, there is a house in which the Patel of Kanathur, K.H.Adi Narayana Rao lived.
Kanathur is famous for its copra. It is the birthplace of veteran stage artiste Master Hirannaiah's father Sri K.Hirannaiah. Also Late K.L Rame Gowda Represented the Village as the president of Jilla Panchayat for Tumkur District Village and K.N Puttaswamy Gowda is gudi gowda in Kanathur and Appaji Gowda K.s Social worker in Kanathur and god of the village Lord Shri Venugopalaswamy.
