Kangan is a town and a notified area committee in Ganderbal district, of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is situated across the Nallah Sindh and spread over a 50 km long gorge valley.
Kangan is located at 34°10′N 74°33′E / 34.16°N 74.55°E. It has an average elevation of 1,810 metres (5,940 ft) above mean sea level.
