"La Bete et la Belle" is a song by a French singer Amanda Lear, released in 2011 by Little Boom Records.
On "La Bete et la Belle" (whose title translates "The Beast and the Beauty") Lear worked with French producers Steve Campioni and Alain Mendiburu. Music is credited to composer Louise Prey of Ping Pong Bitches girl band with Joe Moskow of Reverend and The Makers, and lyrics were written by Louise Prey and Amanda Lear. The song is arranged by Gael Brusseleers. "La Bete et la Belle" was recorded in Paris. The song came as the third single from Amanda Lear's 2012 album I Don't Like Disco.
Amanda Lear performed "La Bete et la Belle" on public TV channel France 2 on September 11, 2011. The show was hosted by Michel Drucker.
The music video for the song was shot in a Parisian hotel in January 2012. It was preceded by a series of teaser photographs and video trailers, before premiering at midnight on 28 January 2012. The clip, directed by Fred Gasimov, sees scantily clad Amanda singing the song to a headphone while rolling and tossing on bed. "La Bete et la Belle" video met with a highly positive reception, passing the 10,000th view mark within 24 hours after surfacing on the Internet. French website Pure Charts noted video's erotic overtone and compared it to the works of Madonna.
