Laemanctus is a genus of corytophanid lizards, commonly referred to as conehead lizards or casquehead iguanas, which are endemic to Central America.
Tympanum distinct. Plane of top of head sloping forward, occipital region raised and extending beyond occiput. Body laterally compressed, covered with imbricate keeled scales. A strong transverse gular fold present. Gular pouch absent. Limbs very long, infradigital lamellae with a median tubercle-like keel. Femoral pores absent. Tail very long, round in cross section. Lateral teeth tricuspid, pterygoid teeth present. Clavicle loop-shaped proximally. Sternal fontanelle absent. Abdominal ribs absent.
