Lamartine (originally called Seven-Mile-Creek or Seven Mile Creek) is a town in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,616 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated communities of Lamartine, Rogersville, and Woodhull are located in the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.6 square miles (94.7 km²), of which, 36.5 square miles (94.5 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (0.19%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,616 people, 581 households, and 460 families residing in the town. The population density was 44.3 people per square mile (17.1/km²). There were 599 housing units at an average density of 16.4 per square mile (6.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.27% White, 0.37% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.19% Pacific Islander, 0.06% from other races, and 0.87% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.05% of the population.
There were 581 households out of which 33.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.1% were married couples living together, 5.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.7% were non-families. 15.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.13.
